Week 5 Updates

This week it has become apparent that we have some color space issues as well as some tweaks to make to out recent previs.

For the coming week this is what I will need to prioritize:

  1. Solve Color Space issues

  2. Adjust BG plates for the shot 2, 3, and 5

  3. Add Atmosphere changes

  4. Adjust Skull in shot 5

Color Space

It has become clear that the color space has been affecting our renders and render passes. To solve this, I combed through all of the most recent nuke script versions for each shot make sure that each and every one of them was set to the exact same and correct settings. This included checking the nuke project settings > checking the output transform for the read nodes > and checking the output in the write node.

Lighting

For the Lighting, we chose to do a dark and moody theme in order to match with the theme of death from our product. This of course will come with its challenges in the future such as preventing the environment from becoming to dark or making it difficult for integrating the live background plate into the scene.

While the team was discussing the lighting for the commercial. We went ahead and created a color script as well to reference in the future. We will most likely use the color script in the future in order to keep the color relationship between the product and environment balanced.
